My Work:  “UNCOVERED”

For me, the female body is full of mystery.  There are secrets to be “UNCOVERED”, revealed within the many folds and hidden places.  The shapes change when a woman moves, curves appear and disappear; frequently another form appears for a moment and then it is gone, never to appear again.  Contours are “UNCOVERED” and the mind sees new and interesting lines constantly being created.

Female bodies change as women grow from infant to old age.  Wrinkles appear and disappear only to appear again as a mark of honor in old age.

I have no idea how my hands choose to form shapes that “UNCOVER” erotic lines and at other times, the dancer, turning within a move in a moment.  Than at other times the courtesan appears at a strange and exotic angle.  Always the female form either realistic or abstract.  For a time my hand might concentrate on a breast, a covered part, perhaps a neck turned at an unreal angle, the belly, or the flesh of the woman’s behind, or a private part,  “UNCOVERED.” Always waiting to be revealed, to be seen by the eye, to be imagined, and ultimately to be touched.

My work is complete when the viewer sees and imagines, fantasizes in a personal way as a part of the woman is revealed to each viewer through their interpretation and imagination.

As the great artist Pablo Picasso once said, “Art can only be erotic.”
